There are two kinds of transmission forms of ball mill, i.e. center transmission and edge transmission. The two kinds of transmission have their own advantages and disadvantages. The central transmission adopts a high-speed planetary reducer, which is safe and reliable, with a service life of up to 10 years, low maintenance cost, but large one-time investment.
AG/SAG mills can accomplish the same size reduction work as two or three stages of crushing and screening, a rod mill, and some or all of the work of a ball mill. Because of the range of mill sizes available, AG/SAG milling can often be accomplished with fewer lines than in a conventional rod mill/ball mill circuit.
Ball milling is normally done in consort with wet screening and/or roller-milling/air floating, for example, so that large particles have already been removed by the time the material reaches the ball mill. Air floating can also be done in consort with dust ball milling.
Pebble mills are a type of ball mill and are also used to reduce the size of hard materials, down to 1 micron or less. Because of their fairly simple design, ball mills and pebble mills are less likely to need costly repairs (unlike other crushing or extraction equipment) making them an attractive option for businesses on a budget.
The ball mill is a key piece of equipment for grinding crushed materials, and it is widely used in production lines for powders such as cement, silicates, refractory material, fertilizer, glass ceramics, etc., as well as for ore dressing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The ball mill can grind ores and other materials, wet or dry.

Figure 8.4 The effect of mill speed on the power drawn by a rotating mill. The liner profile and the stickiness of the pulp in the mill can have a significant effect on the actual critical velocity. Mills usually operate in the range 65 - 82% of critical but values as high as 90% are sometimes used. A crucial parameter that defines the
The centrepiece of RME''s mill relining system is a RUSSELL 7 or RUSSELL 8 (seven or eight axis) liner placement mill relining machine. Available in maximum liner capacities from 500kg to 7,500kg, these machines represent the ultimate in new liner replacement capability. Mill Relining Machines, with a grapple option to hold and precisely place liners exactly into the location for which they are

CERAMIC LINED BALL MILL. Ball Mills can be supplied with either ceramic or rubber linings for wet or dry grinding, for continuous or batch type operation, in sizes from 15″ x 21″ to 8′ x 12′. High density ceramic linings of uniform hardness male possible thinner linings and greater and more effective grinding volume.
Nelson Machinery sells new & used grinding mills including ball mills, SAG mills, tower mills, & Raymond roller mills. Equip yourself with the gold standard
Low viscous products can be handled in a batch type ball mill, with a top-to-bottom flow based on gravity, mounted with a re-circulation pump. For continuous processing lines bottom-to-top operation is very important, since average pastes do have a low fat percentage resulting in high viscous mass.
Mill SHELL Liner & HEAD Liners. Grate discharge heads for ball mills are completely assembled in the shop, with grates, clamp bars, pan liners, and center discharge liners in place. Depending upon available handling facilities, the head or shell can be lined separately in a repair bay, or after assembly of the mill proper in the trunnion bearings.
We discuss the types of ball mill, the basic principles of the ball mill, how it works, the details of design including equations for optimum dimensions in all cases, some manufacturers for the ball mill, and estimation of the cost the ball mill. 6. 1. Introduction Ball mill is an efficient tool for grinding many materials into fine powder.
Posted December 29, 2012. I would suggest that you build a rod mill if you want to get the material down to a fine power, a ball mill usually is used to make bigger item smaller, e.g. big rocks down to little rocks, and then the material goes into a rod mills to take it down to a powder.
Mill relining is the most specialised maintenance task in a mineral concentrator. Almost invariably the AG, SAG and Ball mill liner lives dictate the shut-down dates of the concentrator. The replacement of the mill liners determines the length of each concentrator shut-down. In other words, the liner lives and their replacement, define the time
The biggest characteristic of the sag mill is that the crushing ratio is large. The particle size of the materials to be ground is 300 ~ 400mm, sometimes even larger, and the minimum particle size of the materials to be discharged can reach 0.1 mm. The calculation shows that the crushing ratio can reach 3000 ~ 4000, while the ball mill’s
